Jesse Park, Ralph's father, started the business in 1960 by going door to door asking people if they would like to have their garbage removed.
By 1982 the business had grown to the point that Jesse could no longer, properly and efficiently, maintain the business and a full time job. At this time Ralph and Josie purchased the business, which consisted of 420 customers, 2 trucks and a garage.
In 2008 Parks began curb-side recycling service to meet the demand of customers who wanted an easy way to recycle and protect the environment. Today, the company recycles cardboard, glass, aluminum, phone books, newspapers, aerosol cans and other materials. Commercial customers are a large part of the recycling program where large volumes of materials, such as paper boxes, cardboard, plastic and glass, are collected and recycled.
In May of 2009 Park's Garbage Service, Inc. began weekly residential service in Franklin County. Services provided in Franklin County include residential weekly garbage collection, bi-weekly recycling collection, and containers for commercial use. Residential service includes a 96 gallon container for garbage and a 32 gallon container for recycling.
In 2010, Park's Garbage Service celebrated 50 years in business. We now provide service to over 18,000 residential and commercial customers with a fleet of 22 trucks and 45 full-time employees
The business continues to grow by providing quality and efficient service to all of our customers.
