Recycling

Park’s Garbage Service introduced recycling to Huntingdon County by partnering with Querry’s Sanitation, which Park’s later acquired. The two provided Huntingdon County with a place to drop off trash and recycling.

Now, Park’s Garbage is pleased to partner with Apple Valley Recycling Center to provide top-of-the-line recycling services for residential and commercial customers across South-Central Pennsylvania. Commercial customers are a large part of the recycling program where large volumes of materials, such as paper boxes, cardboard and plastic, are collected and recycled. The state-of-the-art single stream Apple Valley Recycling Center is centrally located to accept recyclable materials from the many Pennsylvania counties that Park’s Garbage serves. Recycling pickup operates on a biweekly schedule, coinciding with your regular trash pickup day. Call Park's Garbage at 814-542-4751 for the Recycling collection day and week that services your area.

General guidelines

From residence or business to facility, recycling shouldn’t be a hassle. We provide the following guidelines as a communication tool to make the recycling process easy and clear-cut from beginning to end. For questions, please call us at 814-542-4751.

  • Place all recyclable items in the recycle cart provided by Park’s Garbage
  • Place the recycle cart curbside the evening before your scheduled pickup day.
  • Make sure all items are free from food debris. Items contaminated with food will not be accepted.
  • Most lids can be recycled, but they must be removed from the recyclable item prior to placement in the recycle bin.
  • Park’s provides a clear list of items accepted for recycle and items not accepted for recycle [below]. If non-recyclable items are found in your recycle bin, Park’s will decline recycle pickup until the non-recyclable items have been removed.

At Park’s Garbage, we know that recycling is an important component of a healthy planet, and that’s why we accept a wide variety of waste materials for sorting, processing and recycling. Below is an easy-reference guide of materials we accept for recycling, as well as materials we cannot accept.

We realize you may have materials not listed here that you need to dispose of. For guidance on how to dispose of any items not listed below, please give us a call at 814-542-4751.
